With the Cross Site Include, it is now possible to include the content of another site (or workspace in other wiki terminology).
Syntax is
[[include :csi:include:page-to-be-included]]
Since the barrier between (public) websites has fallen just like the wall of Berliner, it would be possible to select ListPages from other sites with a similar command:
[[module ListPages category=":external_site:category_A" ...]]
[[module ListPages subdomain="external_site" category="category_A" ...]]
Could you provide a demonstration of where a CSL might be useful?
Some use cases for CSLs:
Gerdami, I'd suggest that this be added to design:12.

Done.
Added also a family concept.

I've refactored that slightly. The 'family' concept overlaps with 'cluster' as defined on http://blog.wikidot.com/design:11 and so I've used that instead.

Ooops, didn't not see design:11.
OK.

It makes sense if you consider subdomains as workspaces. Pieter is opening subdomain websites at wish in the context of one single big project: "Enhancing Wikidot usability". Cross Sites Includes were obvious because it was the way of easy reuse of page code.
Now a concrete example of CSL:
On a community page, we list existing modules from the official website and provide a list of links to community helpon: the listed modules:

Gerdami, yes, thanks for explaining it like this. You know I like to make lots of smaller subdomains, one per project, instead of just a single huge site with everything. Simpler and cheaper to manage, more scalable, etc. So CSIs and CSLs bring that together again.
What we learn about scaling, and the tools we make for the "Wikidot Usability Project", as Gerdami nicely describes it, are relevant to anyone doing complex, long-term work with Wikidot.

Can anyone explain this with and example? Please… I know what is it about, but I still don't get it how it works…

I'd appreciate if those two issues could be addressed before implementing any more cross-site features =/

Can you explain what you mean/why you don't like this, or point to the previous conversations please? Thanks.
Sue
Let me put it this way… I think the idea has merit, but it causes more problems for me (personally) than it solves.

Sue, it's because today the Clone and CSI features let people copy content from sites. We had some discussion about this on the projects forum, and this blog (copyright issues).
My view was that Copying is Good but Shane points out that it discourages people from investing in their sites.
So as a compromise, disabling Cloning-by-others would be a good Pro option.

@Shane, ack.

Well it's your opinion.
However, I think this is not the good place for setting development priorities.
