I think about a picture or image ( like the site grid - but better - :) to show in a diagramm all informational or helpful sites around wikidot maiin page.

Like

• where is the best forum to ask
• where is the code / snippets collection
• where is the doc in MY language
• Where is the first starting help - tutorial
• Where are "ready to work" - prebuilt Sites to use
• where is the support for special questions for
  • Account questions
  • Payable features
  • Adsense probelms
  • Using own domains
• Where is the best place for reporting bugs

and so on…

I think - the template for cloning is missing such Joining page ? :)

Or am I blind ?

I try to build such a dashboard page ( with tables and sitegrid ) on my test site :

and have massive probelms with this module!

( the idea is to have tabkle-cells with different "levels" of experience needed (like the handbook ) and to create a board with single cells with single sitegrid module usages…

But this does not work…!

A) the handbook in the second line ios not found
B) the sites in the second section are not all found…. ??

What is the mistake ?
( the background colors are not yet setup…)

Please - have anyone an idea?

One massive site would mean one massive team, but that does not scale. If you're an admin of the Community site you'll know the problem. Twenty or so admins, but most are absent and the work is done by a handful. This is always how it goes. One huge site would mean huge amounts of work for a handful of people. Not sustainable! Many smaller sites means spreading the work over many smaller teams, each doing less. Much better.

Since the likes of a few, this concept has kept wikidot users happily going along for the past two years.
its only one place to control.

admins come, but more importantly they go. It only started to work properly like, once hartnell got made admin, and made a load more.

he took his ball and went and played elsewhere. life continues very nicely at the community, even without him. As it would with out the stalwarts from the past few years.

You could call it a relay with lots of competitors. at least someone will get to the finishing post :-)

I did it like the irongiant.wikidot.com with the thumbnail lists

Littte pages "dashboardgrid:SITENAME" holding only the little concept-overview ( except the main page itself has a name only with www ! ) and a title - which links to the site too ( and not to the little asite holder)

a little "dashboarginclude:thumbnail" likle the irongiant:project uses

missing is now the background and more viewing concept.
