VPC adds an extra layer of security through isolation, but it was not our main reason to migrate. Since we are moving terabytes of data between our servers every month, we expect the network connectivity to be a bit better. Besides, VPC gives a few more configurable options that are quite handy.

Bitcoin… it might evolve into something, or it might crash. It's a highly volatile pseudocurrency. Although we wish it nothing but success, we are still discussing to which extent we should use it.

  • About Bitcoin I cannot say much, ( only that the 15% discount offer is very good hidden in the" payment method" at the upgrade screen)…
  • "…isolated Virtual Private Cloud" looks good , is this the answer on the whole NSA discussion ? :)
  • and the internal infrastucture changes: as an old systemprogrammer and DB-Admin I can very good imagine the big work to be done in the background to shift to another server-setup.
    I can say - I have not mentioned any interuption at this time.. means "Well done"!
