I'm really nosey! I just want to find out every little detail of what's happening in the [Wikidot] world…
Like what exciting things we can expect to come, what new features are being worked on and what's at the top of the priority list.
Sadly, this is a rant about myself. If I wasn't so nosey, I wouldn't be wishing for all of these things XD

Please don't !
"Wikidot make $ and (hopefully) invest a good portion of it into further improvement of the wiki platform."
how to achieve that?
=> with many Pro accounts
"There can be many Pro accounts when Wikidot allows a user to make wikis fast and easy."
how to achieve that?
=> with syntax highlighting
why exactly syntax highlighting?"
what is the best way to implement syntax highlighting?=> syntax highlighting makes editing pages both fast and easy, and it does so for every single Wikidot user, regardless of the type and purpose of the site s/he is trying to make. It is a feature that would achieve mass effect.
=> discuss here: http://community.wikidot.com/wishlist:47
summary:
money (for R&D) in Wikidot => many Pro accounts => fast and easy wiki edition => syntax highlighting

There seem to be too many different locations for help and/or reference, as well as duplicate pages. Two separate lists of bugs exist…. one on the community site and one on the pro.wikidot site. The Top Wishes in the Pro / Tickets page seemingly accomplishes the same as the "Top needs" in this very blog (on the left side-bar), yet they are separate and show different 'needs'.
Rarely can I not find what I'm looking for, but it often takes way too much time just to find it.
We have:
There doesn't seem to be the adequate cohesion between each of these. Perhaps the Power users know exactly where everything is, but for everyone who isn't, it can be fairly difficult to navigate and VERY intimidating. I'm 20 and highly technically inclined and have been here over a year, but I still get confused just trying to find where stuff is. It is probably much worse for newcomers and a potential deterrent.
A lot of really cool things have been introduced lately, like the design page and the Iron Giant, but their location in this blog site is not immediately apparent.
Perhaps I'm just tired and grumpy, but I think we could all benefit from some better navigation.
Oh yeah, I would really love a page that can at least give us some kind of idea of what things are being worked on (a simple sentence or two) and if/when we can expect any of the new features to roll out. For example, the Rating module is apparently impending redesign… but when can I count on it being around? I'm building around the current rating module and redesigning my entire site with a new (better) module would be a lot of work. Will it be released this month or next year? Information on upcoming features (new page variables, anyone?) and updates like these would be extraordinarily helpful.
This is true. I use the global search.
The Pro site was… a mistake. It cut our discussions into two, which was wrong. The weneeds section here is like a poll on the top issues, because many of them are old and their rating reflects their age, not their importance.
Here is my view (but this is not the Law, just an opinion):
Yes, it is chaotic, but not dysfunctional. Mostly, the diversity allows many people to own different parts of the knowledge, look after it, keep it accurate. Trying to centralize means fewer people can own the space, and it stops working so well.
It's a tradeoff between quality of knowledge and ease of access. You will find today that these sites are almost all maintained perfectly.
Introducing cool stuff is my job, kind of. But that also adds to the chaos. It will, I hope, settle down over time because most of the experts here (and I am proud to be able to work with such smart people) are extremely aware of function vs. dysfunction and will push, steadily, for cleaner and better organized sites.
You're helping by ranting, that is exactly what this space is for. When we complain we're often most honest.
I welcome your proposals.

Could this mean??? Including from other wikis???
This would be fantastic use for the Event Calendar… instead of creating a long and confusing page, they would just need to include from a centralised snippet!

Yes, it's an obvious way to normalize the duplicated code we have all over the place, e.g. in templates but also snippets and packages.

Also, the http://blog.wikidot.com/weneed:_start page duplicates the voting process in the Community Wishlist…

Sure. That's deliberate. Like asking for a summary of two to three years of discussion, if you like.

I like. :D
