Technically, at least in this part of the globe, it's still Monday. However, since tomorrow I find myself on a trip to London, it's time for the Tuesday Rant, which is that section of the blog where you tell us all the stuff you are unhappy about with Wikidot. To misquote the sages of olden times, Then, shalt thou wait until Tuesday, not later, no earlier. Tuesday shalt be the day thou shalt rant, and the day of the ranting shalt be Tuesday. Thursday thou shalt not rant, nor either ranteth thou Monday, excepting very late in the evening, perhaps around 10pm, and then only if Pieter has launched the blog post early. Friday is right out.
Today my rant is simple and direct. I hate that Wikidot has multiple editor interfaces and it gets me every single ranting time. Ctrl+S? No, sorry, bzzzzt! Find mouse, move pointer to Save, click button. Aaagh!
There are many things to improve in Wikidot but right now, perhaps because it's almost Tuesday, the one that annoys me the most is that I can't use Ctrl+S systematically when I make a comment, add a tag, change the parent page, edit a page, write a personal message, or modify a custom stylesheet.
Hear, hear!

I'll vote for that… either not much was happening past few days or something is wrong with the notifications of "watchsite". It were probably slow days.
If something was bothering me this week it would have been the caching on the server… I'm doing test with CSI and get sometimes strange results… due to caching I think.
To continue: I still love wikidot, I wish I knew more from behinde the scenes… meaning some good documented procedures on how to build something like "a calender". Who will help to start the "hello-world.wikidot.com" project?

Have you missed Phil's and James' brilliant calendar? Installation instructions are here

I want to know how they did it… how it really works the combinations of different pages anthe javascript and so on… but thats no rant so..

Ask James using the chatroom, and if he has the time I'm sure he'll explain it to you as best he can :)

he will have to explain it to somebody else and the week after that to …
Get my point?

I think so. You're looking to have a more technical explanation of how the chatroom was constructed and put together. Something more than the installation instructions. Studying the source helps, doesn't it?

If editing tags and parent pages were part of the Edit page form as they should be, you could cross them partially off your list…
Nothing to me is more aggravating than having to do these functions separately from the edit form. It trumps not having a consistent Ctrl-S behavior.
I agree with Kynan that "the ability to edit tags at the same time as editing page content" would be a very nice improvement. I had a bit of a look through the "we need" list, but couldn't see anything along those lines so I just added it.

I have strong feelings about autosave for the NewPage module, but they aren't angry ranty type feelings. I feel more forlorn about it.
What I am outright belligerent about is that the Tuesday Tirade sessions aren't more accommodating of my need to cry quietly but conspicuously in a corner about things like that but instead it's only for flying fits of fury!!! The discrimination is chilling. Chilling, I say.
I hate it when some people behave as though they are perfect, and can't provide a simple “sorry about that” when they are corrected.
I'm very mildly irritated that so many people don't ever bother changing their default icon to something more interesting.

Here here!
My rant is that there is no easy syntax for putting a non-breaking space other than the Alt code that I haven't memorized and can't even use on a laptop since no number pad exists.
Seems trivial, but it is annoying when I do need a non-breaking space.

I agree. It seems very odd to not have entity support. How about this for a syntax [[ ]]. I suppose there might be a reason to "hide" entities, since you otherwise have to try to figure out whether "&" is meant to be literal, or the start of an entity sequence. And for novice users who likely have no clue what an "entity" is, having to replace "&" with "&" in normal text is probably not what you want.
Sigh. I know. I've asked this to the devs more than once, and get blank stares back: "why would you want to enter entities, you can just copy/paste the character?"
I quite like the [[ ]] syntax and will re-open that suggestion.

Hence, please rate this weneed:11 up.

Just a minor rant. Because ListPages is so powerful (Wikidot's "mother-of-all-modules"), I find that I am constantly referencing the documentation page. It would be so convenient if a link to that page could be squeezed in below the edit box so it can hold its rightful place next to the wiki text quick reference | code snippets collection links.
Speaking of links when the editor is used, I think that the link to the code snippets collection should be replaced with a link to the main documentation page itself (www.wikidot.com/doc). You can get to the snippets site from there (and so much more).
