Wow. It was an intense weekend. I have already blogged about the first edition of Startup Weekend Toruń and it actually did happen! And man, it was awesome. How much awesome? Check out this short movie!
Thanks to organizers who asked me to mentor the teams. I really enjoyed it (you can see me in the movie too) and I believe the teams benefited from my experience and tips. I am also happy that Wikidot could support this initiative.
Besides, SWToruń was a great opportunity to meet old friends and make new.
There were 15 teams altogether, each working on building a valid product from scratch. 54 hours should be enough for everyone, right? I am impressed how much you can actually do in such short time. But apart from work, there was time for socializing and some fun too :-)
My favorite project (apart from the winning one) was Kuko — a platform that let you buy home-made meals from anyone who wants to sell them. Great if you want to prepare an extra meal and sell it for small profit, but it's even greater if you don't have time to cook yourself!
Last but not least, congratulations to the winning team of InsTicket, an NFC-based public transport ticket system. Using InsTicket you can purchase bus/tramway tickets by simply holding your phone against an NFC tag. The user experience of this solution is simply great and the team put a lot of effort in the project. Congratulations! Wikidot awarded the winning team with Pro+ accounts for each of the team members — remember to collect your prize!

So the college made us come to this site to do some kind of work. Problem is, this site has a really bad interface and can't be used properly. if there are any tutorials that can help me out that'd be great.
Wikidot is at the moment the greatest platform for free wikis - worldwide.
if there is a problem with the intrface - ok, we had all such problems at the beginning - but the learning curve is a big one!

Wikidot has been in use since 2006 and is the best wiki platform for everything from small free personal wikis up to full business websites. Tens of thousands of educational institutions use it for assignments, courses and other educational uses.
When you say
what exactly do you mean? What is it that you can't do and what do you mean by a bad interface. If you give us a bit of clue as to what problems you are having we can help you either here or in the community forums (which is the place to ask questions and get help rather than here in the blog).

I see that you've created a couple of sites. Now you can start to edit pages and create news. See the Edit link a the bottom of the page on your level2computersystems? site Click that to open the page editor, make some changes, save them and see the result.
As you are using the monobook theme, a quick way to add a page is to enter the title of it in the box on the left of the page in the sidebar, then click the New page button. The page will be created and you can edit it as I've described above.
Then why not try adding an image. Also at the bottom of the page is a Files button. That will enable you to upload a image from your computer. When you have uploaded it you can display it on the page by using the syntax [[image filename.jpg]] replacing filename.jpg with the name of the file you uploaded.
Later on there are ways to list pages, ad forms, use templates, change colours and the whole theme. But start with the small steps and get used to creating and editing pages.
