Nice, yet another glorious reason to use Wikidot!
This reminds me of a request made times ago for making a sort of template:_create or something page that appears for pages that don't exist yet.

I had the same idea, but in the form of :_default
I was just thinking (and I'm not sure if there's a way to do it already, but I don't think so, right off the top of my head), it would be nice if links to private categories could be "hidden" from those who can't see it (meaning that just the link text shows, with no active link).
There's nothing more annoying than being tantalized with a link that you can't view (ever browse a site with a paywall? Then you know what I mean).
I do appreciate it. :)

I created this page:
http://istorijska-biblioteka.wikidot.com/_public
I logged out, and tried to click on hidden pages links. I got the message from the other day, not this _public page…

Sorry, my instructions were wrong. It's categoryname:_public.

This is a nice improvement. Thanks.

Yay!.This is even better! Thanks, Pieter! I was having a problem with removing the side bar only from that page..
Therefore, I should make as many _public pages as private categories I have? For each private category one _public page?

Yes

Is there a way to list all _public pages?

The way I have done it is that I have a list of all hidden pages and they appear in that list:

You could alternatively mark the _public pages with some tag (like _public) to exclusively show those pages:

Ah! Good idea, Timothy…
Hm, if I list all hidden pages, then all pages from all hidden categories will appear, and I don't want that…
Is something like %%category%:_public possible?

There is a NYI (not yet implemented) design for selecting pages by name in the design sketch for ListPages improvements.

Hm, cannot find it. And something like this?
