wstone does not match any existing user name wrote "I recently applied for a job on a certain "monstrous" website and wanted to include my CV. That particular website only allows their own profile to be sent and so I needed to post my CV somewhere online. Hence… http://onlinecv.wikidot.com/ Needs a lot more work on appearance but the sheer simplicity of it seems to work."
We found a easy custom domain so now I'm happy to be able to point you to HeresMyCV.com. We're looking for a logo and maybe a nicer CSS theme. The forum is here.
Using Wikidot like this is a brilliant idea. Simple and effective. Do you have your own idea for a Wikidot mashup?
Haven't started anything yet though. Considering it was to be social-networking related, when tsangk created socialme.wikidot.com he started taking most of the ideas I had thought up so far :P
Still, there'll be another social networking site for Wikidot soon, with a completely different focus to Social ME.

Perhaps we can merge them together to make a Social-Networking Template? :-)
EDIT: But isn't that totally NOT relating to this blog post? It's about tDM's Here'sMyCV.

It's related… right at the end: Using Wikidot like this is a brilliant idea. Simple and effective. Do you have your own idea for a Wikidot mashup?
Any ideas I have that can help socialme I'll definitely suggest/add, but mine is completely different… different enough that I think it needs to be on a different site or it won't work properly :/ Want to get the basis done first, then announce it, and you'll see what I mean then :)

I would like to suggest the multilanguage possibility. Meaning, I need for example, CV in three languages: Serbian, English and Spanish, for job seeking in Serbia and Spain, as well as in multinational companies that usually ask CV in English. So, maybe it would not be a bad idea to make a possibility of having CV in various languages. Something like in Wikipedia — the same title in various languages.

I don't like the idea of including live template saying:Contact information should be included in covering letters and not on this website.
Once I create my page, I really wouldn't like to have that sentence as a part of my CV. Maybe simple template would be better, since this is, after all, just a recommendation, not the rule.

I agree. When creating a page, the template could be used to show that message as a comment, so that it doesn't appear once the page has been saved. Don't see any need to have it appear on every page.

Not that I disagree with your ideas, but I'd suggest joining the site and helping to improve it, or else using the forum I pointed to for specific requests. That'll make it easier for those working on HeresMyCV to follow everyone's questions and answer them.

I can't join the site, as there's no MembershipBy… modules anywhere on the site. Have sent a PM asking to be invited 1-2 days ago

Oh, sorry! Fixing that now. You meant the CV site, not the forum…

OK, fixed it. You should be able to join using the Iron Giant standard approach.

From heresmycv.com's to-do list:
That sounds like a good idea. And we used to have a perfect solution for that: mail forms, old style, with the possiblity of specifying the email address of the recipient. I miss that form…

We just rolled out a fix to the MailForm module that lets you specify a list of recipients:
