It is yet another time Wikidot joins the Cyber Monday deals to give you one more reason to become a Pro user or prolong your account right away. This year we are doubling the value of all our paid plans —
we will extend every one-year purchase to two years
effectively slashing the prices by half!
To make the deal a bit more fancy, we are shamelessly taking an opportunity to promote Wikidot itself. So here is what you need to do in order to qualify for the deal:
- Make sure your Wikidot account is connected with your Facebook account
- Make sure you like the Wikidot fan page on Facebook
- Upgrade or prolong your account
Alternatively you can:
- Follow us on Twitter
- Tweet about this promotion (feel free to change the wording, but please keep the link)
- Email us at moc.todikiw|selas#moc.todikiw|selas with your Wikidot user name and Twitter user name after the purchase
Whichever plan you chose (Pro Lite, Pro or Pro Plus), within 24 hours after purchase we will make sure you get one extra year for free!
You can read more about the features included in Pro Lite, Pro and Pro Plus accounts on our pricing page.
This offer will last only 5 days till Friday 2 December!
What about those of us who have already purchased our plans. Is there any way that we can benefit?

You don't have to buy a new account - you can take advantage of this offer to extend your existing plan. So even if you just bought your 1 year plan last month, you can take advantage of this and extend your subscription for 2 more years for the price of one year. I think it's a great deal.

Thanks. That does sound like a great deal. Will need to think about it though; although Wikidot is fairly inexpensive, given the current financial climate it was still difficult enough for me to afford the upgrade in the first place. It would be even more difficult to find enough for a further year, even if it does equate to an extra two years.

If I sign on now for a Pro account and then in a year I need to upgrade to Pro+, will I still get to apply the second year payment of the Pro account to the cost of the Pro+ —that is in the second year?
If you decide to upgrade to Pro+ a year after upgrading/prolongation with Cyber Monday Special (assuming Pro plan), you will have to pay the difference in a year price between Pro and Pro+ plans, ie. $239.90 - $139.90 = $120.
my current plan has to be renewed 2012, February the 12th.
If I use the offer today will my next payment be 2014 February the 12th or 2013 November the 29th?
regards Flemming
Hi,
you always purchase for the full year, and if you do not change plans the purchased year will be appended to your current plan. This way you just prolong your account for another year, which means your nest payment will be 12 Feb 2013 + 1 extra year from promotion = 12 Feb 2014.

Have upgraded by prolonging my account for 1 year. Am now just waiting for the extra year to be added.

My site is currently considered Educational and is afforded features such as no ads, unlimited membership, etc. I want to upgrade only because I want API access (to use STE), but I'm afraid that upgrading to Pro-Lite might diminish my Educational benefits.
Sorry if that is poorly explained, but do you see my concern?
Thanks,
Scott
Yes, sure I can see your problem. Edu status is rather equivalent to Pro Plus, so indeed upgrading to Pro Lite will remove some of the features.
However we can give you access to the API anyway. First thing in the morning tomorrow.

Thanks!
Hi Michal,
If you gave me access to the API, I cannot yet detect it. I'm looking under Settings > API Access.
There is still just a statement that says it is for Pro Users only.
Sorry to bother you about it. If you just haven't gotten to it, please disregard this…
Best,
Scott
Scott, it should be there now. We had a small delay granting API access.

Hey Scott,
I noticed elsewhere that you mentioned this & that you wanted to use STE for site backups.
Backing up (and restoring) an entire Wikidot site is definitely on my short-term TODO list, but the program isn't capable of doing that just yet.
Feel free to watch the "thread" category, or follow @wdeditor on Twitter, if you want to be notified when this functionality is available.

The question is how do one then unsubscrbe?

I am sorry, there was a small issue with unsubscribing, which is now fixed. All links should now work fine.

I prolonged my account on Friday but it only extended a year. In my haste I didn't read about the facebook or twitter piece of which I support neither.
This was my bad and a good lesson to slow down. Guess I'll wait on the next special
Ken, if you still want to benefit from the promotion, please either like us on Facebook or tweet about Wikidot. We are all humans, not heartless machines, and we always try to find solutions which make both sides satisfied!
